Pilates is a mind-body exercise system pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates (1880-1967). He overcame much as a weak and vulnerable child through exercise. The spine, for Joseph Pilates, was the key to physical and emotional well-being.

Pilates with the focus on breathing develops the deep muscles of the back and abdomen to support the spine, to promote better posture. Pilates creates strong flexible muscles without adding bulk. Pilates is ideal whether you are in need of rehabilitation from an injury to wanting to be challenged and maintain fitness or achieve a sport specific goal.

Joseph Pilates advocated balance in exercise: nothing more, nothing less.
